APS compatibility with Ultimate Points

Post by 3Di »

This extension is not compatible with “dmzx/ultimatepoints”.

If you want to use Advanced Points System rather than Ultimate Points, you have two options.

  1. You can either delete all data from the Ultimate Points extension.
    And then install the Advanced Points System extension.
    However, your users will lose all previously gained points.

  2. You can install the Advanced Points System • Conversion extension.
    This will walk you through the conversion, preserving all your users’ points.

No matter what solution you pick, you will have to redo your settings and point values.
However, it is possible to preserve your users’ points.

The Advanced Points System • Conversion extension can be downloaded here:

APS compatibility with Ultimate Points

To preserve your users’ points the following steps have to be followed to the T.

  1. Make sure the Ultimate Points is installed.
    Make sure the Advanced Points System is uninstalled.
  2. Rename the user_points column in your users table to user_points_old
  3. Uninstall the Ultimate Points extension.
  4. Install the Advanced Points System extension.
  5. Run the following SQL queries on the users table:
    Make sure to use the correct table prefix for your installation!
    1. UPDATE `phpbb_users` SET user_points_old = 999999999999.99 WHERE user_points_old > 999999999999.99;
    2. UPDATE `phpbb_users` SET user_points_old = user_points;
  6. Remove the user_points_old column

The Advanced Points System • Conversion extension does a couple of steps for you automatically.
Aswell as telling you in which step you are and what you are supposed to do next.
And the SQL queries are automated, which can be executed from the ACP.
